TOS visits HZ in Flushing
Isabelle van de Paal, Raymon Thiel & Sven van Liere from team TOS visited the first-year students of HZ in Flushing in what proved to be an exciting exchange. During this visit, they introduced the students to the wide-ranging activities of TOS and its role within the various sectors of the maritime industry. The three visitors work in the TOS office in Flushing (just around the corner from HZ) but have different backgrounds. Sven & Raymon shared their knowledge about the various activities surrounding Port & Logistics. Applying for a job at Port & Logistics does not require a completed degree and can, therefore, already be something the students can take up next to their studies. Isabelle has a lot of experience in crewing and towage, which will be helpful for the students when they finish their studies. She gained a lot of experience as a crewing officer and operator while working with big companies like the Rijksrederij. This combination of information provided an educational experience for the new maritime students, useful for both their current situation as well as their future career.
TOS Overalls
However, this was not the only purpose of the visit. Every year the new students require overalls, sponsored by TOS this year! These overalls come in very handy when the students participate in practical training courses at the university. We wish all the students good luck with their studies and lots of joy with their new overalls!
