Nautical books: A new lease of life
For many of our ship deliveries* we need to provide nautical books and charts for the crew. As the books always have to be up to date, we need to replace them whenever new ones are released on the subject. We could just throw the old books away, but we do not like to waste at TOS! Instead, we pass them on to the next generation of maritime professionals. This time we donated them to the Rotterdam Mainport Institute, where the books will get a new lease of life in the hands of the Maritime Officer Bachelor students.
“The old books are still of tremendous value to the students. They can use these expired versions for educational purposes and learn how to use them to look up information. Topics in the books include radio signals, SOLAS instructions, pilot services information and much more.” says Thomas. He also pointed out that this is not the first time that TOS has donated its outdated books, however, it will probably be the last time we will do so. TOS is going to be using digital books as of January 2023!

Successfully arrived at school
After handing over the nautical books to the teachers, we received this picture showing that the books had arrived safely at their destination. We hope the students at Rotterdam Mainport Institute can use the books for many years and wish them good luck in their studies!
