At the start of every academic year, all freshmen at De Ruyter Academy in Vlissingen, The Netherlands receive overalls. In this way, the students can participate in the practical training of the education program in the machine room in a safe and uniform manner. This year, TOS was able to support the students with TOS overalls. Earlier this week, Isabelle van der Paal (Division Maritime) and Margreet van Waardenberg (Communication Manager) visited the beautifully situated academy to meet all the new students, introduce TOS and to hand over the TOS overalls. Peter Harts, coordinator for the program Maritime Officer, was very pleased with this form of sponsoring. A message to the freshmen from Van der Paal: “We wish all the students a great time in Vlissingen and good luck studying for their bachelor degree”.
The hands-on education program Maritime Officer of De Ruyter Academy prepares students for a challenging, international career at sea or ashore. Visit De Ruyter Academy for more information (in Dutch) about the Maritime Officer program.
